On M52 engines, two resonatorpipes (short andlong) are incorporated into the rear muffler assembly. See Fig. . Anexhaustflap is integratedinto the outlet side ofthe short pipe. Theflap is operatedbya vacuumac-via 41.1 engine tuator the Siemens MS control module). Theflap is closedat engine speeds below2,500 rpm. This flow through the allows exhaust gasses to long resonator pipe and reduce noise. Above 2,500 rpm,the exhaustflap is open(no vacuumapplied to the actuator) and allows exhaust gasses to flow through the shortpipe for maximumperformance.
只有轉速控制,超過2500RPM就開啟,跟車速無關!!
