Nope there are no manual interventions availble for MS43/45/45.1 as for fan speed and changing temperature settings.
As far as I am aware of, basically most auto 6 cylinder cars came with clutch fan whereas manual cars came with electric fans. Albeit there has been no official records found, my suspection goes to the clutch fan engages most of time during stop N goes during summer regardless of load, it offers better overall cooling effect which MAYBE required for the auto gear box heat exchanger and cooling the cramped engine room.
On the other hand auto cars are naturally operating in lower rev range versus manual, the small torque loss could outweight for better heat protection, plus saving a few bucks manufacturing wise.. Well again, this is just my long time suspection.
Quite frankly, albeit I have electric fans on my 04 car since 05, it seems the water temp have always been normal (Between 92~98C) , I have been thinking to revert for clutch ones since the car got supercharged at 90k kms - without intercooler - In summer the engine room has been extremely warm (The ESS TS alloy Intake manifold exterior actually measured 92C at once), on my scale the clutch fan may outweights electric ones now.
